2 week course explanation and type of yoga
Thanks for getting in touch. It might seem strange that our course is shorter than many others (even ones that say they are "intensive"). However, rest assured that our course is still 200hrs. The reason why we do it in just 14 days is that we feel that intensive retreat-style format is very conducive to learning. You learn something then put it into practice almost immediately. It's also a wonderful journey for yourself, literally eating, sleeping and breathing yoga for 2 weeks. On the course we focus on giving you the skills to express and teach your yoga. The "zen" primarily refers to the philosophy behind the practice. People come with all sorts of backgrounds - maybe having practised mostly Iyengar style, Ashtanga, or anything else. We will encourage you to lean on your own background and experience. Our interest is in you finding a way to express what is true to you. Having said that, we will introduce you to a variety of different teaching styles, including those based more in an East Asian tradition (including Zen meditation itself). Our main teacher, Daizan has been a Zen monk for over 20 years.
